We have some blinds

We now have some blinds. So the neighbors can see only half of the things we do. The remainder of the blinds are in limbo – along with the furniture we have ordered.

Whenever we order anything we are told it will be six to eight weeks for delivery. Except for Amazon – which always delivers in two days. This has become my favorite way of buying most things.

I went to the farmers market in downtown Indianapolis yesterday. This is a big event which is held every Wednesday in the warmer months. I was underwhelmed. But then I have been spoiled by Naschmarkt in Vienna and should not expect too much in the mid-west of the USA.

Tomorrow I  am going to try Whole Foods – which is 60 blocks away – but they are only small blocks.

There is not much in our area as we are in the historic Herron-Morton district – and it is protected by the National Register of Historic Places – so we don’t have much in the way of shops or businesses.  We also cannot change the exterior of our house.

The picture above shows the Indian State Fairgrounds and exhibition building which were once on the corner of Alabama and 19th streets – about 100 meters from us.

  1. Glad you explained the picture. I thought you'd bought blinds with murals painted on them. ;)

  3. That is too bad about the farmer's market, perhaps there are other locations you can ferret out. In the midwest sometimes a drive in the country will produce a great place on the side of the road where a farmer is selling produce from his front yard practically as they pick it. That is the best for sweet corn and tomatoes.

I have never been to Whole Foods, can't wait to hear about it.

  4. SK Waller: Sorry about the confusion.

esb: I really don't understand how they can deliver so quickly.

fmcgmccllc: I think there may be other markets so will keep looking.
