Well we
finally have some proper snow in Vienna. Sissi has been out on the terrace to
(briefly) have a look at it and I have been over to Stadtpark to take some photos.
Stadtpark
always looks good but particularly so after snow. It
is not really cold though – so the pond
has not frozen over.
There was a
man feeding the pigeons – and if any ducks came near him he chased them away.
Strange behavior indeed.
In the meantime
Australia is baking in record high temperatures. As reported in the Sydney
Morning Herald – Australia has started 2013 with the hottest days on
record.
“And the country has set a new national
average maximum of 40.33 degrees on Monday, beating the previous record - set
on December 21, 1972 - by a "sizeable margin" of 0.16 degrees”
Suffering Succotash! That is hot.

i have been following the australian thing. poor folks. the hot weather is still yet to come apparently with 45 expected. tasmania no longer exists i read and there is a gang running around sydney that is attacking people in bed with machetes. new zealanders are having problems with quads. apparently the worse ones are the hobbits.

Right now I would (nearly) kill to be in the snow - can't take this heat much longer.
Last night at 11pm it was still 29 deg !!

Yesterday and today have been pleasantly cool - 24C. Well, compared with Tuesday's heat:-)
But the heat did mean we had to take precautions against dehydration - something that those at 66 White Street do quite effectively...
We're so spoilt really with air con. Only 34 for my town yesterday but I'm sure something higher will come along soon. Envious of your snow.
