We were supposed
to have an ice storm yesterday but it was not much of a storm. However it did
rain and is very icy and below freezing and many people are staying home.
From
watching the news this morning it appears that a fair number of those who did
venture out slid off the road or crashed into each other. In Vienna we did not
seem to have these problems and I am not sure why. Perhaps because there we had
to use winter tires from October on.
Cate said I
have to stay home – which is good because I was going to the dentist to have a
tooth removed and am pleased to avoid that. It does mean that I cannot go shopping
and will have to rustle up something from what is in the fridge.
I am
defrosting a rack of Australian lamb and have some carrots and sprouts. Maybe even some snap peas. From the Christmas
ham I made my first ever pea and ham soup and it was very good indeed. I added
carrot and celery which may have made a difference.
Having
sorted out our digital photos I have decided to digitize all of the actual
prints which we collected in the years before digital camera.
I have
bought a small scanner which will scan four photos at a time and separate them
into jpg. files. I have calculated that if I work six hours each day – seven days
each week - I will finish the job in about 13 years.
The Colts
beat the Broncos yesterday. Who expected that? They are just one game away from
the Superbowl. I am not getting my popcorn
ready yet because the Patriots will be really tough.
I am glad we are on the same team, enjoyers of pea & ham soup! I add oyster sauce to mine.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit tOO cold to work in my print shop, so while it is warming up I came home to check on the dogs. I needed an hour nap ...
Big Daddy loves soup with ham. I think the Packers are the team to watch. We will see.
ReplyDeleteI think you also need to make prints of all your digital photos as I've realised that looking at photo albums is much more fun than scrolling through a computer screen. This should only add another 3 years of work and 98000 ink cartridges
ReplyDeleteesb: Oyster sauce? Perhaps I should try that.
ReplyDeletefmc: Cant really see the colts beating the patriots.
lenny: Not to mention the truck needed to cart around the 2,000 albums.
Think of aLL the photos that wiLL be taken of you printing, putting together albums then loading the truck, driving the truck, ..... and creating the printing putting loading driving album. At least another month or two.
ReplyDeleteI am glad my inkjet ink cartridges hold 200 ml. So the whole printer hold about 2/3 of a gallon.
