Home grown idiot

We have had some wonderful rain here over the weekend and this was greatly appreciated by all our new plants and shrubs.
I am a bit worried about what happens to them during our Australian trip as we are going to have to ask the Cat Minder to do the watering. Still – all she has to do is turn on the timers so it should not be too hard.
I have my new leaf blower and mulcher - and am now looking at a snow blower. I think I am going to need one of these as our garage backs onto a lane which is apparently not cleared by the County. I can’t imagine being able to clear it all with a snow shovel.
Meanwhile – back in the Midwest – we have our own local idiot who has joined with the Tea Party asshats in Washington to close down the government and – if we get really lucky – ensure that the USA defaults on its debt. This would be quite a show.
He is Marlin Stutzman – and he knows he wants something to reopen the government - but he can’t quite put his finger on it.
His statement a few days ago was “We’re not going to be disrespected - we have to get something out of this. And I don’t know what that even is.”
This about average for Tea Party politics in the USA. Apparently they are on a mission from God.

  1. I saw on my FedEx tracking that my package originated from Indianapolis today! So any thing you can do to get my package safely on its way would be appreciated, such as avoiding having accidents with any FedEx vehicles or kidnapping any FedEx employees. I am not sure if performing any of these activities on a UPS equipment or people would help in an infinitesimal way ...

    The rain in
    falls mainly
    in the apple trees.

  2. esb: Yes Fedex has a regional depot here so lots of things go through our fine town. But all my deliveries are made by UPS - I have never seen a Fedex truck on the streets here. I assure you I will not impede your parcel.

  3. I hope you enjoy all your new appliances. The worst here is when they plow the street which of course plows all the snow at the end my driveway a foot or so high. Gotta love a snow blower.

  4. fmcgmccllc: I have never used one - and have no idea how to - I will have watch the neighbors.
