Look they are just so dumb

Madison
Well Georgia finally got the courage to go to the puzzle – and solved it in about 10 seconds. We tried the second round – which is much harder – and she also did that in about 10 seconds.

Relief all around really. We have a gifted dog on our hands. Or at least a dog that is not stupid.

But of course the puzzle - which cost us $35 – is now useless. It only does one thing so there is no point in asking her to do it again.

But another thing is that today Cate saw Monika go out thru the cat door onto the balcony. This means that she has mastered both out and in – rather than just in as I thought.

I had suspected this because I am sure I had seen her on the balcony when I was working in the garden – but Cate convinced me that my eyes were deceiving me.

This shows such terrific progress that she may now run in the Republican presidential primaries.

This weekend we went to Madison Indiana - which is such a lovely town that it blew our socks off.  It has been brilliantly preserved and the main street is just 19th and early 20th century. There are squillions of old houses that have been preserved and they look just wonderful. We have decided that we would like to live there. It is just a matter of getting Ducky Pharma to move their head office.

We took Georgia and she had a fine time and sniffed the town from head to toe.

I finally could not stand the never ending uploading of Photos to the iCloud so I have turned the fecking thing off. The whole thing was pointless and was aggravating me almost as much as Carly Fiorina. At least Photos does not lie to me.

Two people in Indiana ordered Chinese food to be delivered so that they could kill the deliverer and steal his money. They used their own cell phone to make the call. Four people were shot last night and two died – because of a fight over a card game.

The jails in the USA are full of the stupidest people in the universe.

I will keep trying

Why is this bed so small? Why are the cats looking at me like that?
Cate says she wants to see how smart Georgia is so I have bought two dog puzzles from Amazon. These are not like Sudoku but are just boards which have  panels behind which you hide dog treats. The dog has to move the panels to find the treats.

I have not used them yet as I fear they may expose Georgia’s intellectual weaknesses. I mean she is very good at some things – running, sleeping,  eating treats and digging holes – but I suspect it may be too much of a stretch to ask her to do anything else.

I am always uncomfortably reminded of Muffin who was with us for 19 years and never learned how to use a cat door. Even after all that time she would watch other cats go in and out of the cat door – but we would have to hold it open for her – lest she sit there and yowl at the closed panel.  And she did this whatever side she was on.

Monika is the same now – but not quite as bad. She has to be let out to the balcony through he cat door – but once there can get back in. I know it does not make sense - but Monika has special needs.

Anyway – so Cate can try Georgia with the dog puzzle and live with the results.

Update:

Cate has tried the puzzle and Georgia is afraid of it. This is hardly surprising as she is afraid of most things including brooms, dustbins and saucepans and tins of chicken stock. If she does go near it she has no idea what to do.

We have left it near to one of her many beds to see if she will tackle it.  Cate has sort of given up on the basis that if she cannot do a dog puzzle then what hope is there.

I figure she is not that dumb –she sure as hell is smarter than some of the Republican candidates – so will persist. I have some plans that will help her overcome her current problems.

I am pleased to report that the second iCloud upload is going as planned. We are down to 18,500 photos so seem to be doing about 1,000 each day. So only about three weeks to go.

I have not found a way to stop it – a diligent search has not disclosed anyone else in the Mac universe who has had this problem – so I just let it beaver away day and night.

It has been summer here during the last week and I have been wearing T shirts outside. A couple of plants have sort of sprung to life ‘wow that was a short winter’ so they will be annihilated as soon as we get cold weather – which may be soon.

I just love winter

She now sleeps in the cat's bed
I saw my real doctor last Friday and he told me what was wrong with me (I forget what he said) and told me that I had been given the wrong medication by the minute clinic.

He said the minute clinics are not very good if you are really sick -which is well and good but he is very difficult to see – and you can never see him on the same day as you call. Once I was offered an appointment two weeks out.

He has now given me some new drugs and has promised that they will fix me and they are working – so this  week I am finally able to start jumping about again and catching up on all my chores. I have lots to do.

I bought a whole bunch of treats for Halloween and put them on the front porch. I was upstairs in the bedroom five minutes later when I heard a car door slam so I looked out the window.

A big car with about eight small children in it had pulled up – they all descended on the front porch and emptied the bowl of treats. Then they drove off into then night. I won’t be doing that again.

I watched the debate last Wednesday night and it was a complete shemozzle. The moderators were just awful and asked some of the most fatuous questions I have ever heard. The participants all said that they were unfairly treated and bullied and they are just not going to do that again.

As President Obama said yesterday – all these people say how tough they will be with Putin – but they are afraid of CNBC commentators.

The participants all lied their pants off but Carly Fiorina was the standout. It was a bravura performance and she has now won my ‘Liar of the Debate’ award for the third time. If she wins next time she gets to keep the trophy.

Ben Carson is now in front. He is the scariest of them all because I have no doubt that there is a kangaroo or two loose in the top paddock. You know - like there is a light on in the attic but no one is home.

My iCloud photo library has decided that it is going to load all my 28,000 photos into the cloud – again. I can not find anyway to stop it. At the current rate it will take about 3 months. Then I will have at least 28,000 duplicates in the cloud. I can delete these only manually – so now I know what I can during the long winter days.

The birds have come back and I am seeing Northern Cardinals for the first time in a while. I mowed my lawn for the last time this fall – I am now waiting for the leaves to drop from our large tree so I can rake all these up. Georgia will have immense fun with these.

I just love winter!
